1. Getting started:

Using the Built in Command Line on the Learn Python web site, we are going to work through these tutorials.

Start with Learn the basics then go on to the advanced tutorials.


2. Integers and Floating Point numbers
An integer is a whole number.
A floating point number can be a decimal.

3. Strings
Text, words or phrases need to be in " ".


Python Facts and Rules
  • Class names start with an uppercase letter and all other identifiers with a lowercase letter.
  • Starting an identifier with a single leading underscore indicates by convention that the identifier is meant to be private
  • The newer version of Python requires () when printing. E.G. print ("hello world"); instead of print "hello world";
